Model the sign for "more" prior to giving the food, toy, etc. Always pair saying the word, 'more' with the sign to promote receptive language- this can later be used as a verbal cue to promote children to use the sign more independently, without you showing the model every time.
Accept "sign approximations" and treat them as successful communication. If their sign for 'more' does not look like yours, it is okay! Reward the attempt and teach consistency.
