Baby talk! Very cute.... AVOID IT.

Baby talk is, of course, ADORABLE! 'ba-ba', 'wa-wa', and etc. However, if we model productions such as those while labeling items, they will learn those labels as opposed to 'true labels.'

Try this!

Model true words and respond with correct label if the target item. For example, when your child points at the bottle and says, "ba-ba!", respond by saying, "yes! bottle!"
